There’s no better time for travelling than Christmas time, when everything sparkles, glimmers and glitters. We are getting closer to the most marvelous time of the year and this time there will be 36 Christmas Markets in Moscow, 25 of which will take place in the downtown around most popular Moscow attractions. This year the main theme of the festivals are popular fairy tales: The Nutcracker, Pinocchio and Lukomorie. Let the fun begin!
Red Square’s Christmas and New Year Market
Red Square traditionally hosts the main Christmas market where you can get gifts for Christmas and treats for New Year table. All the guests are very welcome to try Russian blini with caviar, baked potatoes and traditional spice cakes which go together with tasty hot wine. The market is open on November 29 along with the Central ice rink.

ArtFlection New Year Market of Handmade Gifts
Before coming to the market stands all gifts are going through a strict procedure of selection provided by a special committee which take care of high quality of goods. So rest assured all gifts are of high quality and are made with love and passion.
Location: Culture and educational center DI Telegraph. Tverskaya st, 7.
Muzeon Motherland X-Mas
For local and authentic things to do in Moscow in winter check out Muzeon Music Festival on January 8-10. Great food, traditional coffee, hot wine, sweet treats and pastry are just the beginning. Get seriosu with your Christmas shopping and indulge into Christmas decorations, gifts and toys.

VDNKh Christmas Fairytale Town (VVC Exhibition Center)
The market has 14 booths where guests can buy goods from Europe! For example, pumpkin-seed oil from Austria, educational toys from the Check Republic, handmade chocolate from Belgium. Moreover, here you can find table board games and toys by Russian Soyuzmultfim. The market has hosts four booths with drinks and food as well as workshops for handmade candles and spice cakes.
Location: VDNKh exhibition center, Industrial pavilion.
Art Weekend in ArtPlay Gallery
Two floors of Artplay space will offer flea market, European Christmas fair and Bazaar. On sale: Christmas decorations, postcards, handmade toys, decorations, unique ethnic clothes, accessories, makeup, table board games, souvenirs and even musical instruments. The food is provided by Secret Tapas Bar: ginger spice bread, apples in chocolate and hot wine.

Exhibition of illusions and Magic Stories in the Museum of Moscow
Museum of Moscow hosts the exhibition of illusions for children: upside down sledges, 130 rabbits and an immortal horse! Plenty of theatres, Christmas market with gifts and local food as well as ice rink for children and photo salon. Enjoy your precious time with kids.
Location: Museum of Moscow, 10.00-20.00. Fee: 150-300 rubles.
Big Fair: The Journey to Christmas. Downtown Moscow
This big project covers all streets in the downtown of Moscow. More than 30 markets all around the city will tell you the story of Russian and European cities. Try authentic chocolate, sweets, stock p on toys, original decorations, check out workshops and enjoy the festive music.
Location: all around downtown, 11.00-21.00. Free entrance.
