The history of migration from Russia to the USA begins in 1700s from Russian fur traders. The reasons to leave Russia were different: to enjoy new taste of freedom and start a new life in the land of opportunity, to escape the famine, disease and dire poverty, in 1900s – to escape the revolution, social chaos and politician persecution.

Maria Sharapova has a really interesting story to talk about. She is a Russian tennis player. She is a resident of the US since 1994 and has battled on the “Winner Takes All” round in 2001. Sharapova was chosen to be one of ten women, and the only Russian, to hold the title of Grand Slam. She is also known as an Olympic winner, who has earned a silver medal for Russia in women’s singles at the 2012. Now, according to Forbes, she is named one of the best paid feminine athletes in the world for 11 consecutive years and earned USD$285 million including her prize money.
Alexandra Zvereva, after marriage – Almazova, is a talented Russian singer, DJ, formerly a soloist of the “Demo” group. Sasha Zvereva has three children: daughter Vasilisa and son Makar from her first marriage, and son Lev from her second marriage. Since 2014, her family lives in the US, Los Angeles.
Alla Pugacheva, is а Soviet and Russian musical performer. She started her career in 1965. For her “clear mezzo-soprano and a full display of sincere emotions”, she carries an iconic status across the former Soviet Union as the most successful Soviet performer in terms of record sales and fame. She became an Esteemed Artist of the SFSR in 1980, People’s Artist of the Russian SFSR in 1985 and People’s Artist of the USSR in 1991. Pugacheva introduced her country on the “Eurovision Song Contest 1997”. Alla’s fortune consists of $4 million which gives her an appropriate place on Forbes.
Philipp Kirkorov is a Russian musician of Bulgarian origin, representing pop music. Received the «World Music Awards» award as World’s Best Selling Russian Artist 5 times. He has a state of $7.6 million. Kirkorov has two adorable kids: Martin Kristin Kirkorov and Alla Victoria Kirkorova.
Leonid Mikhelson is a Russian businessman, CEO and major shareholder of the Russian gas company Novatek. It is estimated, that Leonid has about $18.4 billion. He has two children: Victoria Mikhelson and a son. His daughter Victoria studied the history of art in the United States at New York University. Her father has created a fund to support the young Russian artists “Victoria – The Art of Being Modern” (V-A-C Foundation) in 2009. In 2016, Victoria became a member of the Board of Trustees of the Museum of Contemporary Art New Museum in New York. V-A-C is engaged in the arrangement of art space in the building of HPP-2 on the Marsh Quay in Moscow, the cost of its reconstruction is estimated at €150 million by architects.
Andrey Melnichenko is a Russian industrialist and billionaire with a personal wealth of $13.2 billion. He has a daughter, Tara Melnichenko. Andrey was married to Sandra Nikolic in 2005, a former soloist of a Belgrade group “Models”. His daughter is 5 years old. Melnichenko has houses in Russia, the US, Britain, France, Switzerland and Monaco, and he owns the world’s largest sailing yacht “A”.
Viktor Vekselberg is a Russian businessman born in Ukraine. He is the owner and president of Renova Group, a large Russian conglomerate. According to Forbes, his fortune is estimated at about $13.6 billion, which makes him the 4th richest person in Russia, as from the August 4, 2015. Vekselberg is close to the Moscow Kremlin, overseeing activities to improve the Russia’s economy. He is happily married to Marina and has two astonishing children, a daughter and a son. His father is Jewish, and his mother is a Christian. He donated $4.5 million to the construction of the $50 million Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center in Moscow and is the chairman of the museum’s board of trustees. He finances the restoration and construction of synagogues in Russia, including the construction of the Choral Synagogue in Saratov.
Pyotr Aven is an International businessman, economist and politician. He heads Alfa-Bank, Russia’s largest commercial bank. He is a member of the Board of Directors at LetterOne Group. In 2015 he was ranked No 301 out of the richest people in the world, with a worth of around $5.1 billion.
Vladimir Morozov is a Russian competitive swimmer and an Olympic bronze medalist. He is the Russian record-holder in the 50-meter backstroke and freestyle. The Russian swimmer, Vladimir Morozov, bronze medalist of the Olympics in London, has been living in Los Angeles (USA) for 14 years, where he trains with the famous instructor David Salo.
